CMS Releases the Medicare PFS Final Rule

CMS released the 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) final rule which sets payment rates for 2026 and includes changes to the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and alternative payment model (APM) participation options and requirements for 2026.

Telemedicine Flexibilities Extended Temporarily

The telemedicine flexibilities have been extended once again with the reopening of the government allowing patients to access services from their homes by eliminating geographic restrictions for nonbehavioral/mental health care. The spending bill also includes a provision to retroactively pay for virtual services provided during the shutdown period.
