Payment and Practice Help, and Practice Resources

We work with health plans to improve their processes for patients and physicians. Often we discover system-wide problems and collaborate on solutions. This program serves both practices and individual physicians who experience difficulties with reimbursements. Through our Payment and Practice Help program, we have collected over $30 million for members since it first began in 2000. This is a free member benefit.

Legislative and Regulatory Advocacy

Our grassroots efforts by individual physicians and passion for Texas patients have been the cornerstones of our success at the state and federal capitals and in the courts. Together with the TMA we work to:

  • Repeal harmful and onerous regulations.
  • Provide appropriate funding for physicians services.
  • Invest in prevention.
  • Promote a fair civil justice system.
  • Fight to reduce physicians' time spent contesting claims.
  • Stand up for physicians in important health care lawsuits.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Professional Education

HCMS and TMA offer 80-plus courses to help sharpen physicians' skills in the areas of practice management, technology, quality improvement, and professional growth. CMEs are offered through traditional lectures or webinars at no cost or low cost.


Visibility and Access through Electronic Rosters and Apps

HCMS and TMA now have electronic Roster versions. Membership provides you with access to your colleagues and increases your visibility to them through the following:
