• The Harris County Medical Society (HCMS) and the Texas Medical Association (TMA) are the largest county and state medical societies in the nation, representing over 11,000 members in the county and over 48,000 members across the state. Membership at HCMS and TMA is unified. The joint membership offers over 100 member benefits to physicians and their staff including socioeconomic and legislative advocacy. Below are links to key sections of the website that might be particularly valuable to physicians and their practices.

    Payment Advocacy & Practice Resources

We work with health plans to improve their processes for patients and physicians. Often we discover system-wide problems and collaborate on solutions. This is a free member benefit.

Need information or resources maintaining a successful practice? We have updates to the Health Insurance Marketplace, a compliance calendar, incentive calculators, pay for performance, tools and pertinent information physicians need to know as the Affordable Care Act rolls into implementation.Let HCMS be your go-to spot for the latest solutions to your challenges. Knowledgeable staff can assist you with:

    Legislative & Regulatory Advocacy

HCMS and TMA offer 80-plus courses to help sharpen physicians' skills in the areas of practice management, technology, quality improvement, and professional growth. CME's are offered through traditional lectures or webinars at no cost or low cost.
