Change Healthcare (CHC), a unit of UnitedHealth Group, experienced a cybersecurity incident Feb. 21 impacting physicians nationwide. CHC is used by health systems, health plans, and EFT vendors. and as a result, the impacts of the cyberattack are incredibly significant.

MIPS 2023 data submission is now open

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) opened data submission for Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) eligible clinicians who participated in the 2023 performance year of the Quality Payment Program (QPP). Data can be submitted and updated until 8:00 p.m. ET on April 1, 2024.

Effective Jan. 1, 2024, CMS finalized the implementation of a separate add-on code G2211, a new evaluation and management (E/M) code to account for and pay for visit complexity not previously reportable. The rate for the Houston locality is $16.48.

Call for HCMS 2025 Nominations
